Devotional
An Indian Lake teacher is hoping to aid and inspire women with her new book of devotionals.

ILES third grade Language Arts educator Elaine Keller recently self-published on Amazon her work entitled “I Am, 30 Day Devotional Reminders of Who You Are and Whose You Are.”

Keller explains the book centers on how you are feeling daily.

“Go to the table of contents and if you feel like I’m struggling today, then go to the I Am Struggling page. It has a short devotional you can read, it has prayer that you can pray, it has Bible verses and a personal reflection section.”

The devotional is a five-year labor of love for Keller, who is a busy mother of twin teenage boys. She notes that she started writing fiction many years ago, but felt compelled more recently to share her faith. After moving back to Ohio from Florida and helping her mother through a health struggle, Elaine knew the time was right to finish what she had started.

She spent most of the summer writing and researching the best ways to publish. Keller sought advice from a colleague in the Sunshine State who had written her own book. She also enlisted friend and Indian Lake Middle School teacher Alicia Pickering to edit the entire piece.

After much hard work, Elaine uploaded her cover art design and the pdf of her written work to Amazon in October. Now her words are available to the entire world. However, Elaine’s goal was really very small.

“It’s not about getting this out and making all this money, no. If I can get this into the hands of at least one woman who is like “Oh, thank God I’m not alone,” or it brings them to Christ, then I have done my job.”

Keller is a member of the Belle Center United Presbyterian Church. She loves to read and attend her sons' sporting events. Her book is available in paperback on Amazon only. Simply search for “I Am, Elaine Keller.”
