Attention IL Parents of Bus Riders!!

As we near the halfway point of the school year, it has become necessary to make some bus routing changes. These are never easy choices to make, but it all comes down to the number of students we bus compared to the number of staff we employ. In order to be as efficient as possible with taxpayer dollars, we will be eliminating one bus route at this time and shifting its stops around to two different buses.

We are asking for your patience the first few days of the new routes while drivers get used to the changes and we make adjustments as needed.

Effective Monday, November 22nd, the following changes will take place:

1. Bus 17 will replace Bus 18.  Bus stop locations and times will remain the same.

2. The route that Bus 17 previously ran will be divided between Bus 9 &  Bus 29.

3. ****Stop locations for Bus 9 and Bus 29 will remain the same, but times may change by a few minutes earlier or later. Watch for a slip of paper coming home with more information about your specific change.***

4. Bus 7 has a new driver, please be patient while she adjusts to the change and we make any needed adjustments to the route.

Thank you in advance for your for patience while we work through these changes!

Transportation Director

Our Transportation Department is
preparing Bus Information Postcards this week! They will be mailed out on Monday, August 9th.

Several bus routes were modified for the new school year to make our transportation service as efficient as possible. You may have a bus coming from the opposite direction or at a much different time this year, so please be alert and make sure you understand the information on the postcard.

Please know that pick-up and drop-off times are computer-generated estimates, not precise schedules.

Times will become more steady after a week or two of school, as we make adjustments and understand the true number of students riding the bus this year. The GPS logs will then be used to update times to give you a better estimate of when your bus will pick up and drop off your student(s).

Building secretaries will have access to bus information early next week. Transportation information will also be posted at the Open House events.

Finally, Discovery Center students will be contacted directly by the bus driver, Ms. Sue.
