The legacy of the Roundhead Post #8832 will live on for years to come at Indian Lake High School.

Member Mike Craft explains that the Roundhead Post is closing this year, but the organization wanted to continue funding scholarships at ILHS for as long as possible. For many years, the Post has sponsored two $500 scholarships for graduating Indian Lake students who shine academically.

Craft and member Howard Sherpherd recently presented Indian Lake Superintendent Pat O’Donnell with a $20,000 donation. The money will be placed in a special account and continue to fund two $500 scholarships for many years down the road.

Superintendent O’Donnell says, “We are very thankful that the members of the Roundhead VFW saw fit to continue providing scholarships for our students, even beyond the existence of their organization. What a way to pay it forward!”

Indian Lake Board of Education members accepted the donation during a recent regular board meeting.
