It’s rare to attend an Indian Lake sporting event and not see the Overs family in the gym or at the field. Beth and Jeff Overs have been Laker fans since high school themselves, back in the day. Both are Indian Lake graduates and beacons of Laker Pride.

The Indian Lake Athletic Boosters presented the Ohio High School Athletic Association Respect the Game Award for Service to Jeff and Beth Overs during the first home varsity football game of 2015. (August 28th) The brief ceremony took place on the football field at the completion of the first quarter.

After the presentation Beth said, “We’re Laker born and bred… We just like to do things in the background and it’s wonderful that they thought to honor us. “

Beth served for a decade as IL Athletic Booster president when their kids were in school. During that time the couple volunteered as coaches, ran the concession stands, worked the scoreboards, kept books and offered every kind of support for any kind of IL sporting event. As a bus driver for the district at the time, Beth also often drove teams to contests.

She turned the ILAB reigns over to Mike Lump three years ago, but both Beth and Jeff can still be found popping popcorn and serving up sandwiches at sporting events often. Lump said, “We appreciate all the Overs family has done for the Lake and we wanted honor them publicly. Their dedication to and support of Indian Lake sports is exemplary and our programs would not be as successful as they are without the efforts of families who care so much. “

The Overs are also the first ever recipients of Indian Lake’s Lifetime Booster Award.
