Some Indian Lake bus drivers helped future Lakers learn the rules of the road so they're prepared when school starts!
IL Bus Drivers Lori Carpenter and Nancy Beatty led a bus safety session at the Russells Point Safety Town going on this week at the Russells Point Municipal Building.
Beatty explained that backpacks should always be worn on their back when getting ready to board the bus. She also explained all the commands, lights and signals bus drivers use to communicate with kids before they safely get on and off the bus. Then Carpenter went over why it's important to stay quiet and in your seat while riding the bus, so the driver can concentrate on the road.
Russells Point Safety Town continues all this week teaching kids headed to kindergarten about fire safety, pedestrian safety, gun safety, boat and water safety, good touch/bad touch/stranger danger and more.
